Wilderness Survival Campout 2/17-2/19

Troop 280 will be heading out towards Bastrop on a minimalist campout.  All cooking will be over a camp fire.  The boys will build overnight shelters from whatever is on hand.  Saturday night that's where they plan on sleeping.  Several adult leaders will also join the challenge.  :-0

Service Project with our Charter Organization 2/11/2017

The Troop is helping with some landscaping and conservation work on the St. Martin de Porres campus.  This will include service and conservation hours.

August 12th Orienteering at Shepherds Ranch

Troop 280 spent a wet weekend wandering in the woods, er, orienteering in the central Texas woods near Medina.  The Troop departed Friday August 12th, and returned Sunday August 14th.

Camp Alexander Summer Camp

Troop 280 sent a large contingent to Camp Alexander in the Colorado Rockies for summer camp.  Hikes to 9000+ feet revealed Pikes Peak in the distance.  The Troop took third in the Iron Man relay.  Merit badges were earned and Ranks requirements were fullfilled.  Everyone had a GREAT time.  We even brought back a  Mountain Wookie!  Come here all about it at the Troop meeting Monday 8/8/16.

Pound House Pioneering

The Scouts made flint strikers and worked on the Metalwork Merit Badge at the Pound House on Saturday, November 16.  Four Scouts at a time in teams of two worked the forges to make flint strikers.  The other Scouts observed or kept busy by learning some woodworking skills. Parents came out for smores in the evening.  Everyone had an awesome time.
